"Larry F. Kiner has brought together in this volume a discography of the many songs recorded by Edwards; a complete listing of songs written by him; a chronology of stage shows in which he appeared; a filmography; notes on his radio and television careers; and appendices that list 78rpm records by label and catalog number, library transcriptions, and films on videotape. Included as well are indexes to conductors, instrumentalists, song writers, stage costars, and motion picture and song titles. Kiner also provides an interesting biographical sketch entitled "Ukulele Ike and Jimmy Cricket." The discography presents the recordings of Cliff Edwards, 1919 to 1961. The basic criterion for inclusion was whether the performance was intended for commercial release or was, in fact, commercially released. Thus included are unissued recordings, private recordings, radio broadcasts, and soundtracts that eventually became commercially produced records. The recording entries are arranged chronologically by date, month, and year. Listed are all known facts about each recording session. Kiner's book is a concise and complete guide to the commercial recordings of Cliff Ukulele Ike' Edwards. It would be of value to collectors and in the collections of large music libraries or of those libraries with popular culture collections."-ARBA

The Cliff Edwards Discography is an absolute MUST for any serious Ukulele Ike fan. No other doucmentation on Edwards' life is as detailed or complete. Compulsory reading.
